Cooper Motion Sensing Switch # 6105D-PT

I recently installed a Motion Sensing switch from Copper Wiring Devices model # 6105D-PT for a client that was leaving the light on in the garage. It is working well.  I have used similar more expensive ones for playrooms, basements, closets, bathrooms, halls and shops.  I am hoping that this unit will stand the test of time!

PRO: Not very expensive, adjustable for time and amount of natural light in the room before it goes on. It also has and off position and an always on position.

Con:  Might not work as well with fluorescent lighting fixtures. I noticed a hesitation in the lights coming on and a very subtle strobe or flickering in the bulbs.

Aube TI035 timers

I have been installing Aube TI035 timers for a couple years now and have found them to be very reliable.  I use them to replace standrad switches for exterior lighting.

Pro: They have a built in clock that tracks sunrise and sunset that helps save energy and does not need to be programmed through out the year as it gets lighter and darker. When power goes out it remembers its programming and it does not need batteries. They look nice and are flush with the plate.

Con: The access door closes too easily while programming. The display can not be seen well in dim light. Clock could be a little more accurate as it seems to either gain or loose a minute or two over a 6 month period. Very minor problems though.
